Serv-A-Pure 71100S, Whole House Sediment Removal Filter System

The Serv-A-Pure 71100S sediment removal filter system is designed to be used as a whole house water filter system. The filter included with this system is the Pentek 155358, DGD-5005-20 sediment filter. The Pentek DGD-5005-20 is a dual micron rated filter, where the outside of the filter is 50 micron designed to catch larger sediment and then the inner portion of the filter drops to 5 micron to catch any smaller sediment.

Filter Included with the system - Pentek 155358, DGD-5005-20, 50/5 micron sediment filter

Alternate Part Number: BBFS-2S

Standard System Features

- SW-4 plastic housing wrench included
- Mounting Bracket comes pre-installed
- Inlet/Outlet pressure gauges come installed
- Inlet/Outlet lead free brass ball valves included
- Genuine Pentek 20" Big Blue Filter housings are used
- The flow direction can be user selected. When standing out front of the system, does your water flow from right to left or left to right? Which ever it is, this is the selection you choose when adding the system to your shopping cart. If you are not sure which direction you need, you can change the flow direction when you receive the unit, it will just require you taking off the bracket and pressure gauges, then flipping the flow direction and reinstalling the bracket and gauges.

Technical Specification

- Flow Rate: 20 GPM (You can push it higher, but the pressure drop would keep increasing and the filter becomes less effective at a higher flow rate
- Pressure Drop: 1 psi @ 20 GPM
- Number of Gallons: How long this filter last depends completely on how much sediment is in your water. The more sediment you have the more often you will need to change the filter. Use the supplied pressure gauges to monitor the pressure drop across the filter and when the pressure drop approaches 7-10 PSI, it is time to change the filter.
- Max Temperature: 100°F
- Max Pressure: 90 psi
- Housing Material: Polypropylene
- O-Ring Material: EPDM
- Filter Material: Polypropylene
- In/Out Size: 3/4" FNPT

Pressure Gauges

Why include pressure gauges on my system?
     - Including pressure gauges on the inlet and outlet of this system allows you to monitor the pressure drop across the filter and is a good tool for trouble shooting any issues you may have with the installed filter. The higher the pressure drop across the two gauges, lets you know the filter is starting to be plugged up and once the pressure drop gets too high, lets you know it is time to change your filter.

• Pressure Gauge #1 - Located at the inlet of the 1st filter housing. Measures incoming pressure to system.
• Pressure Gauge #2 - Located at the outlet of the 1st housing. Measures pressure leaving the system.

To figure out the pressure drop across the system, take the pressure shown on Pressure Gauge #2 and subtract the pressure shown on Pressure Gauge #1. This difference is the pressure drop you are seeing across your filter system. For best results, take these readings with water flowing through the system.
