The Pentek DBC-10EX2 is a Big Blue 10" filter that us a combination of KDF-55 and GAC carbon used  in many water filtration systems, especially whole house applications. The Pentek DBC-10EX2 maintains a relatively high flow rate despite its low micron rating compared to many other Big Blue water filters.
 

This Pentek KDF/Carbon cartridge primarily reduces the bad taste/odor of chlorine and other chemicals (pesticides, insecticides, etc) in water. This cartridges will reduce heavy metals such as aluminum, arsenic, copper, mercury, cadmium, iron, lead and other water soluble heavy metals. Also removed is sediment, dirt, rust, sand, silt, limescale, bacteria, algae, and more.
