Aquafine Color Guard UV lamps are specially manufactured with ceramic lamp bases. The ceramic material offers advantages over non-ceramic material such as greater high-voltage electrical insulation, superior strength and rigidity, improved temperature tolerance, and resistance to UV degradation. These lamps are exclusive to Aquafine and make mixing of different lamp types virtually impossible during change-out.
Low-cost competitor UV lamps are sold with claims of being "as good as Aquafine." Field failure of these lamps can go undetected, until unacceptable bacteria counts occur. Aquafine's record is unmatched, with less than 0.05% of Aquafine UV lamps experiencing failure.
