Question:

I purchase DGD-2501-20-BB whole house filters from you. I’ve been changing the filters when they look like they need it, but when I cut them open, they are very clean within ¼” from the outside. So I installed a pressure gauge(s) on the inlet and outlet side of the filter and would like to know when you recommend changing the filter based on the pressure difference between the inlet and outlet.

Answer:
The only surefire way to know when a sediment filter needs to be changed is to install a pressure gauge on the inlet and outlet of the housing. The DGD-2501-20 filter should be changed when there is a 10-15 psi drop across the two gauges (Inlet Pressure - Outlet Pressure).
