Pentek’s CBC compressed block carbon series is highly effective in reducing unwanted tastes, odors and chlorine from your drinking water. This series also removes 99.5% of cryptosporidium, giardia, entamoebo, and toxoplasma cysts. All Pentek CBC filters are manufactured using a patented process and are made entirely from FDA compliant materials. The CBC series of filters is an ideal for a wide range of residential, food services, commercial and industrial applications. They also make excellent polishing filters and pre-filters in applications requiring fine filtration (as they have a 0.5 micron rating) and high capacity. Pentek’s GAC granular activated carbon series effectively reduces unwanted tastes, odors and chlorine taste and odor from your drinking water. The Pentek GAC-10 is a common filter used in a home reverse osmosis system to help in the purification process. The GAC series is designed to allow maximum contact between the water and carbon to ensure maximum absorption. The GAC filters have a 20 micron post-filter to help reduce carbon fines. New filters will contain a very small amount of carbon fines and after installation should be flushed with new water to remove the fines from your water system before using. The filter media in a GAC filter is made of granular activated carbon. The most commonly used filter in this series is the Pentek GAC-10, which is a 10” filter. However, this filter is also available in a 5” and 20” version, along with a 10” and 20” big blue version.
The Pentek R30-BB is a pleated polyester reusable water filter. R series cartridges are manufactured from a durable, non woven and reusable polyester fabric that is suitable for a wide range of filtration uses. The media is pleated around a core for added strength and the ends are immersed in a thermo-setting vinyl plastisol. Embedding and sealing each end of the pleat in this fashion fuses the three components together forming a unified end cap and gasket. The overlap seam is sonically welded to reduce internal bypass improving filtration efficiency. The standard 10” length cartridge has more than four square feet of polyester fabric, while the larger big blue version has more than 16 square feet. The media is pleated to maximize dirt-holding capacity and extend the time period between changes or cleaning. The R series cartridges are resistant to both bacteria and chemical attack making them suitable for a variety of residential, commercial and industrial applications. The filter comes in a 5”, 10” and 20” standard version, along with the R30-BB and R30-20BB, a 10” and 20” big blue version.
